I'm an adult and I've never done martial arts before.  Can I really start now?

Yes! Taekwondo is for all ages, fitness levels and walks of life.  The fitness that comes along with training will allow you to do more challenging techniques in no time! If you have challenges such as a chronic injury, we'll work with you to adapt the curriculum to be challenging but safe.

What should I expect when I come to class?

Every class is 1 hour.  We encourage you to get there a few minutes early to stretch. The first 5-10 minutes will be spent warming up. Each class we will focus on one of these specific groups of techniques:

  • Kicks, blocks, strikes

  • Forms

  • Self Defense

  • Sparing

How do the belts work?

You will start at white belt and progress through 10 belt levels in order to be ready for earning a black belt.  Each belt level has a distinct and achievable curriculum and typically takes 4-6 months per belt rank, depending on class attendance and outside practice.
